The Belle Fourche Cowboy Band would like to thank the city of Belle Fourche, the Chamber of Commerce, the area businesses and all of our faithful audiences. Without your support we wouldn't be able to continue spreading joy to so many folks.

Friends,
2012 begins
Greeting to everyone! I hope this letter finds you well and ready to play! The year 2012 has a variety of new venues for us to perform in and still some of the golden oldies that we participate with each and every year. Check our 2012 SCHEDULE
Other appearances are obviously possible and if you are aware of something we need to take part in, don’t hesitate to bring it to our attention!!
And the rest of the story
This year’s Charlie McClung Award was presented to Mr. Dillon Bryant at the High School Band’s Spring concert. Mr. Bryant plays the alto sax and plans to attend the Rushmore Music Camp with the funds he has acquired from the scholarship. I think he will be a good addition to our group.
Have you looked deep into your closet lately? How about the trunk of your car? Is there a pair of chaps hiding or a music pouch deep in the corners? If so, please let us know about it! Inventory is a challenge to control and during the Fourth, it can get very hectic as to who has what!!
Do you have a class reunion coming up? How about other members of your old group joining us? Family members that use to play? We have several families that span a couple of generations enjoying being part of the band. We must continually search the crowds for people needing an invitation to join us. If we don’t pickup new members, it will be difficult for us to continue performances. Can you help us? As mentioned before, activities we have had in the past need people to not just play but also to have an active role in their planning. Many hands make light work for all of us and everyone gets to enjoy the participation.
We still need an equipment manager. Got a vehicle to pull a trailer around? It’s a paid position for it does take time to handle the chaps, music and various instruments. If you’re interested, give me a call at 605-210-0551!
You may recall from our 2011 fall newsletter of us wanting to visit with the school board on encouraging a summer band program. The discussion has been started but where it goes from here is still yet to be determined. As with anything these days, money becomes a component of the discussion and if this is something the Cowboy Band wants to promote….they may need to help financially provide?? Time will tell.
There are lots of challenges/opportunities available if we just look for them! Think about it….let me know your thoughts and how you can be a part of it? Email me at tspeidel73@hotmail.com or just write to the Cowboy Band address. We’ll be looking forward to hear from you. Check out our Facebook page (Belle CowboyBand).
Be ready to have fun!
